Introduction to Reverse Osmosis

RO (Reverse Osmosis) technology is membrane separation filter technology by using pressure difference as its power and originated in research of aerospace technology in 1960s in the USA, which is latterly transformed for civil use gradually. Currently, RO te-chnology has been widely used in fields such as scientific research, medicine, foodstuffs, beverage, and sea water desalination.
The aperture of RO membrane is as small as nanometer scale (1 nanometer=10-9m) and under certain pressure, H2O molecule can pass through RO membrane while the inor-ganic salt, heavy metal ion, organic substance, colloid, bacteria, virus and other impurities can not pass through this membrane, which, as a result, strictly separate the passable pure water from the impassable concentration water.
The conductivity of the pure water filtered through RO membrane is generally equal to or less than 5¦Ìs/cm, which complies with Level 3 water standard of state laboratory. The output water conductivity, after circular filtering through atom-scale ion exchange column, can reach 18.2M¦¸.cm, which complies with Level 1 water standard of state laboratory.
